VACCINATIONS, JAB, SHOTS OR JAGS!

Whatever you call them, having a vaccination for flu, HPV or COVID-19 can trigger anxious feelings.  It makes sense that people develop fears connected with needle procedures if they have a had a bad experience in the past, have heard horror stories from other people, or simply imagine the worst case scenario happening in front of their friends -  fainting or being sick.  Anxiety is no joke, and panic is even worse.  You feel faint, dizzy and sick, your tummy is churning, you start sweating, your heart starts racing, you can't breathe.....your primitive brain has predicted that something is about to hurt you and is preparing your body for escape to protect you.

Understanding the way the mind and body work together in these situations and having a plan of action can help to manage anxiety enough to get through it quickly.
