I'm comfortable with difficult conversations about the most personal topics including physical symptoms, invasive treatments and traumatic events. There's not much I haven't heard about body parts, investigations and the medical kit that keeps people healthy. I often speak to people feeling really distressed about traumatic events that have happened to them, who can't see how they will ever recover. We work together; I have experience in helping individuals with the psychological impact of physical health challenges and trauma, and they’re the expert on themselves and their lives.

I integrate Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Interpersonal Therapy (IPT). I make adaptations for neurodivergence, learning difficulties and visual or hearing impairments where needed, to make the experience of working with me as helpful as possible. I can help children to process traumatic events and worries about the future using stories or sandtray techniques that bypass the need to put things into words.

I have worked in the National Probation and HM Prison services, and since 2005 in NHS community, inpatient and outpatient and settings. I have worked with children and adults with a range of problems including offending behaviours, depression, anxiety, OCD, phobias, PTSD, acquired brain injury, eating disorders and self injurious behaviours. I qualifying as a Clinical Psychologist, I have worked at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Edinburgh, St John's Hospital Livingston and currently work part time at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital alongside a private caseload.
